School Lunch Preparation Center

Food for life Nepal believe that no child in Nepal shall be deprived of education because of hunger, so the School Lunch Preparation Center established with the goal of serving underprivileged children. We aim in promoting education through food. We provide freshly cooked meal in the form of ‘Mid-Day Meals’ which is currently being prepared in the ground floor kitchen.

Children receiving FFLN’s mid-day meal has grown significantly from 18 Children to 3000+ daily. Construction work for a larger and better kitchen has begun with the ability to prepare up to 10,000 meals per day.

 

 

The time frame for the project completion is one year and the total cost is estimated as 1,10,00,000.00 (One Crore Ten Lakhs Nepali Rupees) eqvt. USD 96,686.19 this also includes the labour cost. This two-storey building is being constructed on 1,078 sq. ft of land. The site plan covers 6,400 sq. ft of land with regard to future expansion plans which will also be used for office space for administration.

On 24 September 2019 The Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, Mr. Masamichi Saigo, signed a grant contract with Food for Life Nepal to build a School Lunch Preparation Center in Budhanilkantha Municipality in Kathmandu District and hoped for the betterment of the educational environment for students.

 

Presently, we are actively working from ground floor kitchen. We are currently serving 3472 children over 13 Schools in Budhanilkantha Municipality. Our next goal is to construct the first-floor and feed as many children as possible. Thank you for all the encouragement and support.
