Puspanjali Rai’s Journey: Growing Strong with Food for Life Nepal

Food for Life Nepal(FFLN) is a non-profit, public charitable organization registered under the Government of Nepal on September 4th, 2015 AD. Food for Life Nepal has been trying to liberate the children from classroom hunger by providing them with cooked nutritious meals under the supervision of the Quality Control Officer to ensure the highest standards of health and hygiene for a balanced diet to meet the dietary requirements for better growth and development of the children.

Puspanjali Rai, 9 years old, studying in class 3, is accompanied by her elder brother Narayan Rai in the same community school -Shree Atma Bikash, Muhanpokhari Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, Nepal. The journey isn’t easy. She walks for about 30 minutes every day to school and back every day. But, Puspanjali and her brother Narayan along with four siblings with just their mothers. At Food for Life Nepal, we believe that one wholesome meal a day brings thousands of children to school daily. Therefore, we are committed to providing nutritious midday meals at 26 community schools to about 10,000+ children daily.

Since Food for Life Nepal began its ‘Mid Day-Meal Program’ in this school, it has improved Puspanjali and her brother’s academic performance as well as filled their empty stomach. This Mid-day meal has pushed them to go to school daily to learn effectively and be healthy.
