KATHMANDU: Food For Life Nepal (FFLN), a non-governmental, non-profit, non-religious organisation working for the welfare of children in Nepal, has recently moved its office into new premises in Budhanilkantha.
Since its genesis in 2015, FFLN has dynamically strived to address the escalating issue of classroom hunger in Nepal and enable access to school education. Its journey began with feeding 18 schoolchildren in one of the schools in Budhanilkantha Municipality, Kathmandu.
However, it was only a matter of time before the humble beginnings of FFLN transformed the lives of marginalised children. With good management, innovative technology, and smart engineering, its Mid-Day Meal (MDM) programme has become one of the country’s largest NGO-run school midday meal programmes.
Today, FFLN caters to over 15,000 children every school day in Budhanilkantha Municipality and Tokha Municipality, Kathmandu, from a centralised mega kitchen supported by the Embassy of Japan in Nepal. It is making rapid strides towards the vision that ‘No child in Nepal shall be deprived of education because of hunger.'”
